Prairie School Foundation

"Using one of the BPA laptops and printers funded through Foundation dollars, I headed to Orlando to compete in the Software Engineering Team competition at the BPA National Leadership Conference. We placed first! It was a moment in time that will be remembered for a lifetime. I know that I'm getting a quality education at Prairie that will enable me to compete in a national if not international job market."

Why did you want to be involved with the Foundation? I worked with kids & families for almost 20 years in the capacity of therapist, teacher, counselor, and coach. I wanted to continue sharing my experiences from those arena’s in bringing families & educators together. With two children in the elementary years, I have a vested interest in school policy as it relates to safety, inclusion, and opportunity.
What would you like to see happen at Prairie in the next 5-10 years? Continue to bring in top notch teachers; add a diverse variety of after school programs with an emphasis on the arts (drama, music, art); upgrade the playgrounds; beautify the campus; implement any new educational technology to remain a leader in Iowa schools.
