Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 27 and make plans to attend Prairie Fest – Back in Black 2010. The event will be held at the Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education located directly across the street from the Prairie campus!
Prairie Fest is the Prairie School Foundation’s annual fund-raiser dinner/auction/ dance event which proudly provides financial support directly to the College Community School District. This past fall the Foundation allocated $30,000 to all Prairie Schools. Help us “gear up” to provide our students and teachers with the resources necessary to offer the best educational opportunities possible.

We are pleased to announce that South Slope Cooperative Communications Company will be the event/entertainment sponsor for Prairie Fest 2010. “We are very excited to have South Slope as our title sponsor again this year,” said Foundation Director Steve Doser. “South Slope has been a wonderful partner to the College Community School District and their support of our teachers and students is truly outstanding.”
The event begins with social hour at 4:30 pm. This is a great time to look over the more than 400 silent and live auction items that are generously donated by hundreds of area business and individual supporters. The evening will also include a buffet dinner prepared by the Kirkwood School of Culinary Arts. Last year the auction included a variety of items such as Prairie Street signs, lifetime and family athletic passes, vacation packages, home décor, Kinnick Stadium bricks, autographed athletic items just to name a few. Immediately following the auction you can kick off your shoes and dance the night away.
